With the official start of summer just around the corner, it's time to talk about keeping our skin safe and radiant under the sizzling sun. Whether you’re lounging on the beach, enjoying a picnic in the park, or simply running errands, protecting your skin is key to maintaining a healthy glow throughout the season. Let's dive into my top 8 tips for sun-safe summer skincare!

1. Sunscreen All Day, Every Day!


The holy grail of summer skincare – sunscreen! Never leave home without it. Opt for a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher to shield your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays. Remember to reapply every two hours, especially when swimming or sweating. There are so many great new formulals out there from other countries. 2. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!

Stay hydrated to maintain your skin's natural moisture barrier. Drink plenty of water and use hydrating skincare products to keep your skin plump and glowing. Pro tip: Pack a facial mist for a refreshing pick-me-up throughout the day. Skipping scalding showers and hot water at the sink can also help you to retain water in your skin.

3. Lightweight Skincare Products Are Your Friends

Your lips and eyes need protection too! Use a lip balm with SPF to prevent sunburn and keep your pout soft. Invest in UV-protective sunglasses to safeguard your eyes from sun damage and reduce the risk of cataracts over time.

Give it a little break for the summer. If you must, 1-2 times a week with lots of extra sun protection is the ticket.
